Sodium Aluminate is an inorganic compound used as a source of aluminum in many industrial applications. It is a white, odorless, water-soluble solid with a molecular weight of 105.99 g/mol and a melting point of 830degree C. Sodium aluminate is produced by the reaction of sodium hydroxide with aluminum oxide. It is used as a source of aluminum in many industrial processes, such as papermaking, aluminum smelting, and water treatment. It is also used for water softening, to reduce impurities, and to increase pH in wastewater. Sodium aluminate is often used as a coagulant in wastewater treatment, to reduce suspended particles and to speed up sedimentation. It is also used in the production of detergents, as a water softener, and to reduce the toxicity of certain chemicals.
